Story of JEM Evo Ibanez

Attention to detail! 🧐🎸When Ibanez handed Steve Vai the original JEM prototype back in 1986, the first thing he did was to disassemble and reassemble it completely, so he could personally inspect the craftsmanship. 😱 When you're holding one of the Ibanez JEM-EVO LTD models, you get the impression that Steve just played on it moments ago! Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the JEM, Ibanez released this highly limited replica of Steve Vai's personal guitar "Evo" in 2012. Only 100 instruments were built at the Sugi Custom Shop, each hand-signed be Steve himself. Each guitar is spec'd and relic'd by Nick Sugimoto and his team as close as possible to Vai's personal "Evo". Hence, the guitar features all the small details that make "Evo" so unique: duct tape on the neck pickup to stop the high e-string from getting stuck when plugging it hard, mismatched control knobs, etc. ... even the crack on the neck joint of Steve’s „Evo“ has been replicated. What an amazing piece of Ibanez and Steve Vai history!
